Look at the picture below and you can see where this guy broke through the guardrail, on the right side where the people are standing on the road (pointing).

The pick-up was traveling from right to left when it crashed through the rail. It flipped end-over-end, across the culvert outlet, and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which he was traveling.

Now, look at the second picture....

Another one of those question lists someone emailed me. Here's my answers.....

2. Diamonds or pearls? I like either not-white diamonds, or pearls, if they're not the round kind but the flattish, lumpy, wrinkly ones. I'm not picky.

3. What was the last film you saw at the movies? I saw Cloverfield & 27 Dresses on the same day.

5. What did you have for breakfast? My herbal supplements, vitamins, painkillers, chocolate milk & strawberry yogurt. Yum!

6. What is your middle name? Isabel, not Izzy, not Dizzy Izzy... It's Spanish pronounciation, so a soft 's' instead of a 'z'.

******THE LAST 24 HOURS**************

************DO YOU BELIEVE IN**************

Yourself? Yes

**********FRIENDS AND LIFE*********

Who have you known the longest of your friends? Sabrina, since I was two.

Who do you go to for advice? It depends what it is for. Eva is good for hair stuff, Mom is good for health stuff, Sam & Scott are good for brother things, Jason, Bill, Cheryl & Nancy are good for spiritual things, Sabrina is great for most anything...

When do you cry the most? Hmm. When I'm frustrated, when my feelings have been majorly bulldozed, when someone is going to die, when someone dies unexpectedly, when I had depression & no one recognized it, when Sam gets mad at Mom.

Do you want your friends to do this and send it back to you? No importa.

Wednesday, January 23

Today was a non day. My brain was not up to much & for some reason I felt irritated toward Mom. So I feel like nothing has been accomplished, which isn't exactly true. First, I finished the Section 8 application (ah, & there it is, the start of my irritation!) & got it squared away so Mom could turn it in for me. Then Sara arrived & fed me which doesn't bug me, but does Mom, which in turns bugs me. I was trying to figure out what to do when Sara gave me 2 library books I'd been wanting to read, so that's what I did while she watched Dinotopia (not the kiddie cartoon). Oh, & I coughed until about 3, but I didn't asperate any mucus since Sara is getting about suctioning.

Last night I gave my talk & it went well. As usual, I felt nauseatingly nervous until I opened my mouth & been to give my talk. But this time I did feel wellprepared. I allowed myself more extensive notes than last time, for one thing, because I've realized that the pneumonia sent me for a loop not just physically but brainwise & maybe spiritually too. & if I stop trying to get back to normal, I find myself getting better, actually progressing steadier. Okay, I don't know if that makes sense to anyone except Sabrina.....

We probably got home between 9:45 & 10 pm, but I know I didn't get into the house until after because the second I was laying on my bed the clock said 10:15. I had intended to watch "Music & Lyrics" but I was too wired/tired to so I watched The Office reruns on tbs while I ate chocolate pudding with cool whip. Then I fell asleep during my treatment.

Tessann emailed me this tidbit about being unappreciated at work.

Saturday, January 19

Today is a regular blah day...

I watched cartoons while Clover used my computer to email Nathan (as usual) & Willow, & rent a car for their drive up to Canada during their NY trip. She was very down & grumpy, so I didn't mind letting her do her thing while I vegged.

Lupita called @ 10! Yay. I was worried because she's had this cold a long time. First thing she told me was the doctor diagnosed bactarial bronchitis & gave her antibiotics which are already working. Then she wanted to know if/where Clover & Julie wanted to ice skate. Clover said Rockefellar Center, but Lupe said there was more room at Central Park. Then she said her cong had arranged for a Bethelite br to give a special talk today in a couple hours. He'll also give the public talk tomorrow & go out in service with the cong. Lupita said the special talk is about Ezekial's car. Clover was confused at first but I asked Lupe, "You mean 'chariot'?" she laughed & said "Sí. Carro, it's 'car', no?" No. heeheeAfter the call, we went back to doing what we were doing before until Julie arrived. Hooray! It's hard not seeing each other all week..... :-(

Usually she cheers me up, but today we cheered each other up. We are both worried about a certain pioneer & I think we're on the same page in regards to how to handle it. Learning to help someone without being sucked into their drama is a hard balance to achieve, but I think we're getting there.

Also, it helped that I promised to be Julie's pioneer partner in the new system.

Then we worked on translating the Book of Bible Stories. We finished the intro, the Part 1 summary thing, & the first story! Julie is doing fanastic!! Her pronounciation is excellent, too. I have no idea how I'm progressing.

She gave me 3 hugs when she left! *happy sigh*

I need to work on my talk now.

Friday, January 18

Sara & I went to Millcreek today. We saw Cloverfield & 27 Dresses, in that order, for which I was very grateful.

I liked them both, but can see how a lot of people won't like Cloverfield. It is intensely scary, sad, & in a weird way, very real. I think we were kind of prepared for the weirdness of it because Sara & I are familiar with J.J. Abrams' work. He did the tv shows Alias & Lost, so if you don't like those you probably won't like Cloverfield. It's hardcore scifi for sure. They did a good job of making you feel like you were in the movie, because Sara & I kept whispering to each other what we would have done in the situations, like when you start to see rats running in the same direction you should run too & ask questions later. Basic survival, people! & I knew that helicopter was doomed, not just because it was that kind of story, but because it took off & flew in the wrong direction! What was that pilot thinking?

As for 27 Dresses....definitely a chic flick, but surprisingly witty. I was not bored. Actually, there were quite a few times that I laughed so hard that I choked. & it was not entirely predictable. The characters were not all cliché stereotypes either.

So I am still choking, coughing stuff up.....you don't want to know how long it's taken to type all this.... I don't know if this mucus was induced by the laughter, the air at the theatre, the Junior Mints, the cold air outside, or the lack of sudafed in my system. Ah well.

Mom sent this from National Geographic.

Pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a mess it is! .... Never, ever put "Emergen-C" vitamin powder into a bottle full of "vitamin water"! Not that you or I ever would, but Sara F did & oh, the mess on my floor -- like a wet, sugary volcano had errupted all over my floor. which I guess it did. Anyway, I had a good laugh at her expense. She didn't care, she was laughing too.

Finally, I have a picture of our lot. Mom was in the parking lot of the movie theatre across the street from the site for the new Hall & it was yucky yesterday when she took it, so it's not the best, but there's not much to see yet anyway.
