Everyone say, "Awww!" lol Actually this was taken about an hour ago as another effort to get a good view of her ears & top of her head for her portrait that I'm painting, only her head is just a tad too tucked in.

Fw: True Friendship

True Friendship:None of that Sissy Poop

Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.

You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- Just the stone cold truth of our friendship.

1. When you are sad -- I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spider monkey.

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.

7. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsiness.

9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask; 'because you are my friend'.

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, But only you can feel the true warmth.

Send this to 10 of your closest friends, Then get depressed because you can only think of 4.

hmm, some of these are very true, except #4 because that's plain mean and I don't want anyone even Sabrina giving me grief about my spider issues, #7 because I would want to be with Sabrina, & #8 because I would clap and cheer, but that's just me.

Clover & Julie finally got to hang out with Shan after the meeting, like around 11pm, last night. They talked about family, of course. Julie was hoping to get Shan's mimic of his aunt on film -- it's perfect & amazing -- but I think he was too tired to think of something.

One of the stories Shan told was of a time when Uncles Elton & Ronnie took the kids camping. Apparently the plan was for everyone to take a hike, but Uncle Elton made some excuse to either not go, or meet up with them later, or something. So good ol' Uncle Ronnie took all the kids up the trail and along the way told them some interesting tales.....

Here are two pictures Clover took, probably Saturday on their way to Theresa & Richard's. It's Clear Lake.

A gorgeous sunset.

I think this one is artistic. Julie is so pretty.

I just checked my email (the aol one) & lo & behold! an email from Clover!!

Why the astonishment? you ask. Well, they're staying with Lupita, who last I knew did not have internet, but obviously does now because Clover's message arrived around 8pm last night, so she's wasn't at an internet cafe, which means Lupita has internet & therefore email, which therefore means we can now email each other!!! Yay! :D

*big happy sigh*

oh, & Clover wrote...... let's see what she has to say.
...
Well, I'm not at liberty to reveal all, as some things must be kept on the down low so as not to freak out overprotective parental units whose legitamit worry is oft expressed as distrust & paranoia.

That being said, las chicas arrived safely at Lupita's, where Eva made Julie some special tea with onions, garlic, apple, and some other stuff.

At the Sacramento airport, as they were going through security, one of the guards said, "Hey, someone's waving at you." And it was Jenny & Zeb on the other side of the glass! (I knew they'd see each other). As they had a nice visit, Chris Dannewitz (sp?) walked by! The girls also saw a look-a-like for Bill Townsend at the airport and one for Bill Carvalho on the plane from Chicago.

I'm glad they had a fun start for their trip.

Saturday, February 9

Clover & Julie left today ... later than planned, of course. (I tell you, I'm sure Clover has hispanic blood somewhere in her background). Anyway, Clover left me two and a half hours later than scheduled because it took her all morning to mix the cds she wanted as the sort of soundtrack of their trip.

Whatever.

Anyway, she left the rest of her cd collection with me so I can rip them & maybe put them on my ipod. Cool, huh?

Now, I don't mean to sound snotty or braggy cuz that's not how I feel, but I seem to have the largest most ecclectic library of music of anyone I know. Why? Am I so weird? I mean, not only do I have hundreds of cds, but I enjoy the variety. I've got all the Beatles, Shakira, lots of pop, dance, classical, swing, jazz, big band, soundtracks, country, rock, celtic, blues, opera, crooners, some metal & even some rap (if Will Smith counts), disco & some unclassifiable stuff. Where did my taste come from? Certainly not my parents.

Okay, now I've got a hankering to listen to my "Jazz Sounds of Africa".

Tah.

Sabrina's back!!!
She's back, she's back!

'nuf said.

Fwd: Harmonica in Carnegie Hall

Mom sent me this today. I think she got it from Uncle Jerry. This guy could almost persuade me that harmonica playing is cool. His name is Buddy Greene.
